RTO Mallikarjun said vehicles ferrying party workers will have to seek prior permission of the election officials failing which they are liable to face action. City buses cannot deviate from their allotted route and if they wish to do so, they will have to seek prior permission of the authorities, he said.

The RTO said the seized buses  will face action as per the Motor Vehicle Act and the permits of the buses will be suspended for some time.

However, the driver of one of the buses was heard saying that rules have not been flouted and that his bus was not used for election purpose but was only parked opposite Rosario Church.
