To save Nethravathi, ‘NOTA’ is the only answer: Holla

Mangalore, April 2, 2014: The Sahyadri  Samrakshana Sanchaya, Mangalore, has requested the people to opt for the NOTA (None of The Above) in the Lok Sabha election, thereby boycotting all candidates, who have been turning deaf ears to people’s problems and adamantly imposing projects like Yetthinahole, which are detrimental to the District.

 

Addressing media persons in Mangalore on Tuesday, Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya President Dinesh Holla said that the BJP government implemented it. Both the parties are responsible for the project. But they are leveling allegations against each other and are neglecting the environment and people’s welfare.

Also the ministers from the regions are not supporting the people who have elected them. Hence, the people have to teach a lesson by opting for NOTA to save River Nethravathi, Holla said.

He meanwhile added that the acquisition order of forests towards the Yetthina hole project, is waiting for the Forest minister ’signature. He requested the minister not to sign the papers and save River Nethravathi.  Stating that the people of Dakshina Kannada have been cheated by the political parties, he said that if the Yetthinahole project is taken for granted, more hazardous projects, which have already lined up, will be implemented in the district, to the verge of extinction.
