Taluk Panchayat standing committees formed -Mangalore

Mangalore, June 19, 2014: Maria Lavina, Vanitha, Ramesh Shetty, Sujatha and Prakash Hosabettu were elected as members of General Standing Committee.

G K Harish, Jayalakshmi, Devaki Raghav, Prema and Johnson Lobo were elected members of Finance, Auditing and Planning standing committee. Ramesh Poojary, Vajrakshi Shetty, Surekha, Raju Kunder and Clara were elected members of Social Justice Standing Committee and Muhammed Yusuf was elected the president of the committee.

 

 

The members and Presidents of the committees were elected unanimously.

According to the Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, it is mandatory to have the three standing committees in Taluk Panchayats. The President of the Taluk Panchayat will be the president of the Finance, Auditing and Planning standing committee and Taluk Panchayat Vice president will be the President of the General standing committee.

Taluk Panchayat President Rajani, Vice President Prakash and Executive Officer Vishwanath Poojary were present. The members tenure will be for a period of 20 months from June 18.
