In his orientation speech, Department of legal meterology Inspector Gajendra said, the electronic weighing machine should have maximum capacity to weigh 50 kg and an accuracy of 10 grams.  After deducting the weight of the empty cylinder from total weight, the machine should show 14.2 kg, which is the exact weight of LPG. The weight of the empty cylinder varies, though it is of same company, he said.

When DC A B Ibrahim asked on the target given by the dealers to each delivery boy in the City to distribute cylinders, IOC Sales Officer Vijay Surya said that there are four companies (IOC, BPC, Indane and HP) distributing LPG through 13 distributors. In one delivery vehicle, there will be two delivery persons and they cover 90 houses together

One  delivery man said that though two people go in a vehicle they distribute cylinders to two separate houses. So, it would be difficult to weigh the cylinders using the single threaded scale. The official said that two persons help each other and 10 per cent of the cylinders are weighed in the go down. However, the delivery man said that when the customer demands one has to weigh the cylinder. Delivery man losses his strength, during loading itself. If anything happens to him during weighing who is responsible? he asked.
