Suicide bid : Body of missing student traced

Mangalore, Mar 25, 2014 : The body of Puneeth Kumar (17), a I PUC student of Gokarnanatha  College has been  traced on March 25, Tuesday afternoon.

The boy had earlier reportedly attempted suicide along with his  girl friend    by jumping  into the break waters at Panambur on March 24, Monday. Sources said he was dejected as he had not performed well in his final exam.

But, luckily the girl had managed to swim ashore and return home, while the boy was missing. His father had earlier lodged a complaint of missing.

Mangalore, Mar 25, 2014 : A young pair of lovers, both teenagers have reportedly attempted to end their lives by jumping into the breakwater at Panambur late light on March 23, Sunday.

The girl it is learnt, survived the suicide bid and returned home, while the boy is reported missing.

According to sources, Punith Kumar (17) from Kulai, a I PUC student of Gokarnanatha College in Mangalore was in love with a girl of his class. It is learnt, he was a dejected lot after he  performed  poorly in one of the subjects in the final  examination.

He had reportedly left home on March 23, Sunday afternoon. Late in the night, he along with his girl friend decided to end life and jumped into the water. The girl however returned home later on, while the boy is missing.

His father Upendra Salian has lodged a complaint with Suratkal Police. Punith  is lean and is 163 cm tall and has wheatish complexion.

The girl hails from Koorikatta in Baikampady and a search is on for Punith on the basis of the girl’s statement.
