Speeding cement mixer truck claims life of teacher

Mangaluru, Feb 24, 2024: A teacher lost her life after a cement mixer truck rammed into a scooter which she was pillion riding near Panambur beach on Friday evening.
The deceased is Poornima (29) a resident of Honnakkate. She was the teacher of a private school at Kulai. Poornima was on way to Mangaluru in her sister’s two-wheeler when the mishap took place.
The cement mixer truck which was over speeding had brushed past the handle of the scooter following which the rider lost control over the vehicle and Poornima who was pillion riding fell on the road and she came under the tyres of the truck.
Poornima who was critically injured was rushed to the hospital, but her life could not be saved.
The truck driver Deepak Sunar has been arrested.
