Moodbidri, May 30, 2014: K Sneha, of Ulthoor village in Thekkatte, scored 30 marks in physics, 25 in chemistry, 51 in biology and 28 in Mathematics out of 60 marks qualifying with 3,249th rank in the recent CET’14. She very eager now to claim the credit of becoming the first doctor from the Koraga community, seen as most backward.
In II PUC exams, Sneha scored well - 92 in Biology, 93 in Physics, 98 in Mathematics and 98 in Chemistry. The 89.33 per cent marks scored in SSLC paved Sneha’s way for a free seat at Alva’s College in Moodbidri. Sneha was always keen on taking up medicine to serve the people. She has always worked hard to score good marks and educate her self all around. Reading, Singing and playing chess are some of her hobbies. She is the eldest daughter of Ganesh V and Jayashree couple.
Ganesh V her father is a known social worker among the Koraga community and mother Jayashree works as a school teacher at Sathyagraha Memorial aided school, Shetageri in Ankola. The proud parents were glad with their daughter’s accomplishment. Jayashree, with tears in her eyes added that she was sure of her daughter wearing stethoscope one day.
Ganesh says he wants his daughter to serve the society. His wish is that Sneha’s sister, Shashi should pursue law and would also contribute to the society. Integrated Tribal Development Project coordinator Uday Shetty felicitated Sneha at her residence and assured her of support in the future too.
