Mangaluru, Dec 2, 2017: Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (NUINS), constituent college of Nitte University commemorated 25 years of its excellence – the Silver Jubilee finale “Samyata 25” on 2nd December 2017 at the college campus in Paneer near Deralakatta.
Dr Masatoki Kaneko (MD), Dean of Nurisng Sciences, University of Miyazaki, Japan the chief guest released the souvenir highlighting the year long academic and co curricular programmes of the silver jubilee celebration.
Dr. N.V.Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University presided and released the documentary on NUINS emphasizing the facilities and services offered by the institute. He also honoured the principal Prof. Dr. Fatima D’silva for her innovative efforts in bringing glory to the institute. In his presidential address he recognised the contribution of nursing profession to the society.
Dr satish Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor of Nitte University facilitated seven faculty members for their longstanding services to the institute. Dr Harishkumar Madhyastha, Faculty of Medicine, University of Miyazaki distributed awards to eritorious students.
Clera Pinto, Secretary of Alumni Association read out the report of silver jubilee year. The newly composed college anthem was sung by the choir of NUINS at the end of the formal function.
Prof Dr Fatima D’silva principal, NUINS introduced the dignitaries and welcomed the gathering. Prof. Sabitha Nayak, Vice Principal proposed the vote of thanks. A floral tribute was offered to late Dr Usha Punja by all the dignitaries on this occasion.
