Shringeri incident : Several activists seek resignation of home minister

Mangalore, April 20, 2014 : The killing of a youth from Jokatte by the ANF personnel at Shringeri personnel after mistaking him along with other cattle transporters, as Naxals, is expected to snowball into a major controversy.
Already Krishnapura town in Suratkal where the deceased was staying had observed a bundh in protest on April 19, Saturday. Meanwhile, various organisations have demanded that Home Minister KJ George must resign over the incident.
DYFI State President Muneer Katipalla held the home minister responsible for the incident and added the incident revealed the failure of the state government.
Even Vidya Dinker, social activist has demanded a thorough enquiry into the case.
The SDPI too has strongly condemned the incident and has urged that the home minister must quit.
