K V Belliappa, the in-charge of the Suratkal police station, said that the prohibitory orders will be imposed for around a week. He also informed media persons that the police are investigating the case in which the skull of a cow was tossed into the courtyard of a Daivasthana recently as well as the case in which people at Krishnapur and Ganeshpura were assaulted by masked men.

On Thursday, a group of 50 people including some Muslim women from Iddya, protested in front of the police station. The protestors alleged that the police had arrested innocent people with regard to these incidents.
