School Bus brake failure damages three cars

Udupi, Dec 21, 2013: A tourist bus carrying school students had lost its control over the brake and rammed into three cars near Sri Krishna Math on December 21, Saturday.


Reportedly, the students of a higher primary school at Patrakody, Kedila in Bantwal were on an educational tour to Udupi and were on their way to Sri Krishna Math after visiting Manipal museum and the planetarium.

According to the sources, the driver of the bus had taken the bus in narrow lane were heavy vehicles were restricted. But when he was trying to park the bus near the Math, the brakes failed.


The bus first rammed into Scorpio with Andhra Pradesh registration parked in that area, when he tried to avoid hurting woman and a child on the road, it rammed into an Alto bearing Udupi registration and finally into Hyundai i20 car with Andhra registration.


The incident left the drivers with minor injuries, while the children and pedestrians had luckily left unhurt.


Udupi police arrived at the spot and a case has been registered.
