Sand mining resumes in CRZ limits in Udupi district

Udupi, Sep 2,2017 : After a gap of over a year sand mining has resumed in CRZ limits in Udupi district. The Chennai Bench of the Green Tribunal had earlier stayed sand mining in CRZ limits after some people had filed a petition complaining that sand mining in CRZ limits would cause damage to environment.

The stay order has been vacated with great efforts. As of now the district administration has permitted 142 people to undertake sand mining  in CRZ areas.

Udupi district in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj has expressed his pleasure over the commencement of sand mining with due pre-conditions laid down by the district administration.

Where the construction woks banned all these days ? Illegal sand mining is going on through out the year. This is just to make the public known about it .
