Roshni Nilaya launches PG course in criminology and forensic science

Mangalore, Sept. 21, 2011: School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya launched a brand new PG course in criminology and forensic science on September 21 Wednesday.

Dr. S. M. Jaamdar, the principal secretary to the Department of Home, Government of Karnataka, was the chief guest of the event. Mr. Jaamdar also inaugurated the course.

In his inaugural address, he spoke of the rising need for forensic science in the solving of crimes. He also said that the city will soon have a Cyber Crime Police Station since a proposal is being prepared for the same.

Alok Mohan, the IGP of western range; Seemanth Kumar Singh, the Mangalore police commissioner; Dr. Channappa Gowda, the DC of DK; and Labhu Ram, the superintendent of police, were the guests of honor.

Dr. S. M. Jaamdar presented ID cards to the first batch of 9 students who have opted for this new course.
