Pushpalatha Murder, Uppinangady police baffled

Mangalore Today News Network

Puttur, June 7, 2014: Clues are yet to be uncovered in the murder case  of Pushpalatha, wife of Hirebandadi Government High School Head Master Gurumurthy,  that came to light on June5, at Uppinangady. Police have intensified the investigation to nab the culprits

murder 1Pushpalatha was found dead when her husband and two children returned home from school on June 5 pm. The post mortem of Pushpalatha’s body was conducted at K S Hegde Hospital, Deralakatte, in the presence of the family members of Pushpalatha and Gurumurthy. Later, police handed over the body to Gurumurthy, and was later taken to their native Kollegal it is said.

Meanwhile, the murder case has created many questions in the minds of investigators. As per the available information, Pushpalatha was alone in the house when Gurumurthy and children left to the school. Evidences show that she was washing clothes, but the task was  incomplete.  It has created doubts that somebody who is familiar to her may have come as she came inside house leaving her work behind. The murderer also locked the door of the house after the crime; if the person  is unfamiliar with the house, it would not be easy to find lock and key and so the police are of the view.

To hasten the investigations,  police have used dog squad and finger print experts. The sniffer dog came out of the house, but again entered into the house and stood there. So, police believe that most probably the culprit  is in the area.
