Udupi, April 29, 2013: Senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhan Poojari has come down heavily on former minister Vasanth Salian for quitting the party just because he was denied a ticket to contest the elections from Kaup constituency this time.
Poojari was speaking to reporters at the RajeevBhavan here on April 28, Sunday. Continuing, he said the party had given many opportunities to Salian and also pointed out that he had won the election five times. Launching a tirade against Salian for quitting the party, Poojari pointed out how he had obeyed the high command decision despite being refused a ticket twice.
To a question if Salian would be reinducted into the party, Poojari said Salian is welcome if he joins the party before the elections. But the Congress doors will be closed for him if he decides to rejoin after the elections, Poojari said.
Vinaykumar Sorake, Congress candidate from Kaup, Naveen Shetty, Jaya Shetty Sudhir Kumar and other leaders were present.
