When they had picketed the MSEZ office on May 2 Wednesday, the legal advisor for MSEZ and certain police officers had assured them that a meeting will be soon arranged with Dr. Rajiv Banga, the MD for MSEZ, certain higher officers of the MSEZ, CRZ officers, and top police officers. The people went back home only after they received this assurance.

The meeting was expected to be held on the work site at 5:00 p.m., but when the officers failed to arrive, the people were again furious and went to picket the MSEZ office, which is currently on the fourth floor of the MUDA building.

When they found that the MSEZ office was closed, they stormed into the office of DC Dr. Channappa Gowda and demanded that he should resign for his silence regarding the issue and his support of MSEZ.

The angry protestors also burned an effigy of Dr. Rajiv Banga.
