Over 25,000 to benefit from Akrama-Sakrama scheme in next 2 years in DK

Mangalore, May 31, 2014:  There is good news for those residing in houses constructed unauthorisedly on government lands in rural areas and do not possess title deeds. On May 31, Saturday, DK District in-Charge Minister inaugurated the Akrama-Sakrama scheme of regularising the lands in the district.

Speaking to reporters after the launching of the scheme at the Taluk Office, the minister said the process of Akrama-Sakrama will be carried out for two years when over 25000 lands are likely to be regularised.

At the same time the minister regretted that people have been increasingly constructing houses on government lands, despite  the implementation of several housing schemes.

Sadashiva Prabhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner said many who have been residing in houses constructed on encroached lands are deprived of various facilities for want of title deeds. He said  the land in rural areas excluding CMC, TMC and town panchayat limits will be regularised.
