Mangaluru , Jul 05, 2017 : Mangaluru City Corporation  issue notice  to 20 builders of under-construction buildings for not adhering to malaria control measures, Mayor Kavitha Sanil.

Addressing the media today July 05, Mayor said ,MC C health officials to serve notices to builders who fail to ensure cleanliness at construction sites. According to survey from January to June this year 77 cases of malaria were reported. There is a decrease of 42 % in Malaria cases this year compared to last year.

 

She also said that the  MCC are constantly on the job, adding surveillance teams focus on labourers at construction site on source reduction of the vector.There are more than 350 buildings under construction within MCC limits and 34 mosquito breeding construction sites  which have been identified so far.

 

There is no proper mechanism to visit construction sites and take action to reduce malaria sources.  20 Builders have been issued notices in regard if they fail a huge penalty will be imposed, she said.


Deputy Mayor Rajaneesh, Sashidhar Hegde, Sabitha Misquith and others were present.

There are many cases of malaria but comparatively is has reduced. We have to be successful i making totally free from this .The co-operation is very important

I agree the notices are issued the builders, but the MCC are also not taking measures in spaying the anti mosquito repellents
