Mangalore, Mar 25, 2014 : Former minister Krishna J Palemar has alleged that no developmental work has been initiated in Mangalore even a year after the Congress won the MCC lections.
Speaking to reporters here on March 25, Tuesday, he charged the Congress of achieving power in MCC through false promises. He further accused the party of going back on its words and increasing property tax. Even underground drainage fee has been increased by 200 per cent, Palemar alleged and said the single site approval system has also not been cancelled as promised.
He further alleged that the state government had not released any fund for the developmental works in the city.
Claiming that he during his tenure as district minister always heard the problems of the people, Palemar said all four ministers from the undivided district were not reachable to the people.
BJP leaders including Yogish Bhat, former MLA, Umanath Kotian, Ranganath Kini, Premanand Shetty and Satish Prabhu were present at the press meet.
