Mangaluru, March 31, 2024: On Sunday, March 31, the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) welcomed the final vessel of the 2023-2024 financial year, the Seven Seas Mariner, marking the sixth arrival of the cruise season.

Arriving in Mangaluru under the Bahamian flag, the Seven Seas Mariner brought with it 610 guests and 440 crew members, as reported by the NMPA. Upon disembarkation, guests were greeted with traditional hospitality and introduced to the cultural highlights of the region at the cruise lounge.

To ensure a memorable and seamless experience, NMPA had meticulously prepared for the guests’ arrival. Dedicated medical screenings and efficient immigration and customs processes facilitated swift disembarkation.

For exploration purposes, a fleet of 25 coaches, including shuttle buses and taxis, was provided to transport passengers to religious sites, tourist spots, bustling markets, and shops in the city. Guests also had the opportunity to engage in meditation at a dedicated center established by the Ministry of AYUSH, and immerse themselves in Mangaluru’s rich culture and heritage through a captivating Virtual Reality Experience Zone.

Complimentary Wi-Fi access was extended to guests at the cruise lounge, while a unique selfie stand showcasing Yakshagana art, courtesy of the Ministry of Tourism, allowed visitors to capture lasting memories of their visit.

Throughout their stay, tourists were treated to various cultural performances, including Bharatanatyam dances. They explored prominent tourist destinations such as Karkala Gomateshwara, the 1,000 Pillar Basadi at Moodbidri, Soans Farm, Achal Cashew Factory, Gokarnanatha Temple, St. Aloysius Chapel, the Local Market, and traditional homes in the city. As they embarked on their onward journey, tourists received colorful souvenirs depicting Mangaluru’s vibrant cultural heritage.
