Minister U T Khadar sends accident victims to hospital in his car

Bangalore, Jul 7, 2014: Two people were injured when the autorickshaw they were travelling in overturned near Mekhri Circle on Sunday night. The injured — Hariharan (60) and Shantala (55) — were immediately rushed to K.C. General in the car of Health Minister U.T. Khader. They were later shifted to NIMHANS. Mr. Khader caught an auto to his destination.

The Minister was heading to an Iftar party at Palace Grounds when he saw the autorickshaw in front of his car overturn.

He told The Hindu that he immediately stopped the car and rushed to the aid of two people who were caught below the vehicle. “With help of a few passers-by, we rescued the two people. I asked my personal assistant to take them to K.C. General in my car.” He then hailed an autorickshaw and went to the Iftar party. Mr. Khader said that he was later informed that Mr. Hariharan had a fracture on his hand and leg and Ms. Shantala on her hip. Asked about the autorickshaw driver, he said that, in the melee, no one noticed him nor noted down the vehicle’s registration number.
