Bantwal, May 14, 2014 : DK District In-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai has pulled up the Bantwal TMC Chief Officer Ganesh Rao for the TMC failure to solve the garbage problem which has left the town stinking.
Addressing a meeting of the officials of various departments at the SKSRY Auditorium at BC Road on May 13, Tuesday, Rai sought information on the progress registered in the garbage treatment plant works.
Responding to the same, the officer said the House Committee has permitted continuation of the works on some conditions and added the nearby anganavadi and school will have to be shifted.
The Minister later directed the authorities to hasten the waste treatment plant works at Kanchinadkapadavu. He also instructed the officials to immediately respond to the water problems of the people. Borewells must be dug wherever needed and measures must also be taken to supply water in tankers to needy areas, he said.
