Middle aged man thrashed for raping mentally ill minor girl

Moodbidri, Aug 24, 2013: In a shocking incident a middle-aged man from Kalladi-Jarigekatte in Kuppepadavu village here has reportedly raped a mentally challenged minor girl.

It is learnt, the accused Sunder(55), a daily wager was a neighbor of the 15 year old girl and had lured her when her parents who too were labourers were away. Sources said the girl was four months pregnant. Locals on coming to know about the incident, caught hold of Sunder, stripped him, tied him to a tree and then thrashed him. The Bajpe police later intervened and took the accused to custody.

The victim girl would be subject to a medical examination at Wenlock, informed Asha Nayak, Chairperson of CWC. It is learnt, the accused was also a political party member and was the president of Kallady Higher Primary School SDMC.
