Mentally ill youth rescued 3 months ago shifted to Bengaluru; family untraced

Mangaluru, Mar 8, 2015: A young man  who was found lying inside a drain   at Ullal three months ago and was admitted to the KS Hegde Hospital at Derlakatte by a local social worker has now been shifted to the  Home of Hope Institute in Bengaluru for higher treatment after  he did not recover as expected from his mental illness.

Meanwhile, social worker Razik Ullal of Hope Self-Help Group who had  rescued the youth  aged around 20-21 years  near the Paradise Hotel at Ullal has still not been able to trace the family of the  youngster despite persistent efforts.

It is learnt so far there is no information regarding his place of stay as the youth  can neither speak nor walk normally.

Doctors at KS Hegde Hospital’s Pyschiatry Department, who treated him, now hope he may return to normalcy after a long-term treatment.

Anyone knowing the family of the youth can inform Razik Ullal who has been an active social worker  since several years.
