The poster is designed by Indian Development Foundation, Mumbai and promoted by Centre for Integrated Learning in the district. The poster which speaks of `Cure for TB’ is endorsed by veteran Indian footballer and Arjuna Awardee I M Vijayan.

In an informal discussion with members of Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL), the officials of Health Department of MCC and Mr. Abhishek Purohit a youth Icon and founder of NG called GROW (Giving Rise to Our World) in Jodhpur, Rajastan, the Mayor invited NGOs to join hands with the Mangalore City Corporation in preparing a master plan for the city to create awareness about Public Health issues and make the city a model one. Marla extended his support in taking up projects with CIL which has the experience of working with children and youth to promote various civic causes.

Senior Corporator Naveen D’Souza, MCC Health Officer Manjayya Shetty, Executive Director of CIL Sachitha Nandagopal among others were present on the occasion. Mayor also received a project proposal from CIL on activities that could be undertaken in the corporation limits regarding public health promotion.

Centre Integrated Learning (CIL) has been, since its inception five years ago, striving to evolve strategies and interventions that add value to the present education system. Creating awareness on Health Issues  is among such activity that facilitates youth to discover their innate potentials to work for the society so as to groom  themselves so as to develop as responsible citizenry.

It could be recalled that CIL has collaborated with MMV (Medicines for Malaria Ventures), Genava an associated global NGO of World Health Organisation (WHO) to undertake a project to create awareness about Malaria in a very meaningful manner by bringing together over 6,000 students through a drawing event last year.

On this occasion of World TB Day, We wish to propose to collaborate with the Mangalore City Corporation in working for the cause of Mangaloreans through the medium of children and youth which is most effective, the proposal explained.
