Manipal: Medical reports have not proved sexual assault on child, claims DSS leader

Mangalore Today News Network

Udupi, Jan 16, 2014 :Jayan Malpe, District Principal Convenor of the Dalita Sangharsha Samithi has claimed that medical reports have not proved the sexual assault on  an LKG student of a private school at Manipal by  two  school bus crew. The incident was reported in September last year.

Manipal rape1The DSS further strongly condemned the police for doing injustice to the two arrested in the case by charge sheeting them instead of  seeking the court to drop the charges.

He  has further alleged that  the police had recorded the statement of 17  staff of the various  departments of the school in connection with the case, but have failed to  get a circumstantial evidence except that the girl has identified the accused by seeing their photographs.

He has   said  though the mother of the child in her complaint had urged for action against Rajesh B Shenoy and Narayana, the  failure of the police to mention the two names in the final report submitted to the court has given room for doubts. He also stated that the SP has failed to  fulfil his promise to  get a re-investigation done into the case, following a protest staged by the Dalits and other organisations on October 17. Stating that the entire incident was concocted, he said the police has failed to ensure justice in the case.
