Mangalore : Phase-2 kitchen of Akshaya Patra Foundation inaugurated

Mangalore, June 17, 2014 : DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Forest and Ecology B Ramanatha Rai inaugurated the Phase-2 of the Mangalore Kitchen of Akshaya Patra Foundation on June 17, Tuesday.

Earlier , a vehicle of Akshaya Patra Foundation was flagged off at the premises of Srinivasa School by the Minister along with Mangalore North MLA Moidin Bava. Ten students who have excelled in  SSLC examination were also awarded on behalf of the Foundation.

In his address, Rai was all praise for the Akshaya Patra Foundation  for assisting in the mid-day meal scheme of the government.

MLA Bava who also spoke, said as many as 23000 children in Mangalore benefitted from the mid-day meals supplied by the Foundation.

 Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman  of  The Akshaya Patra Foundation thanked the government as well as the stakeholders who have helped it  made possible for the Foundation to effectively supply mid-day meals to students. Karunya Sagar Dasa, President  of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, Mangalore was present among others.
