Mangalore, May 21, 2013: B Ramanatha Rai, the new Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment was accorded a grand reception on his arrival at the Mangalore International Airport at Bajpe on May 21, Tuesday.
Speaking to media men on the occasion, Rai said as a Forest Minister he would strive to protect environment and promised to work with dedication in his new capacity. He did not forget to thank the party leadership for choosing him for the coveted post. Rai said sincere efforts were needed to protect forests and environment and promised to live upto the expectations of the people.
Continuing, Rai expressed his unflinching loyalty to the Congress stating he has dedicated his life to the Congress and was even ready to sacrifice his life for the cause of the party.
He also assured that all the four ministers from the Congress in the district would work in unison for the development of the district.
A large number of admirers and party men were present at the airport. Rai later left for his home constituency Bantwal.
