The vehicle had an exhibition drive from Manipal to Mangalore, covering a distance of  about 60 Km.  ’Monster Trike’ has been assembled/developed modifying assorted readily available components,  60 BHP engine from a 1998 Maruti Zen model, Hayabuza front tire, smaller rear wheels, front portion from Royal Enfield Thunderbird and so on. The cost to produce the  bike  was approx Rs.3 lakh, the cost of mass production will be cheaper.  Prakhyath Raj team member said  that the trike has among other features, 1000 CC engine, automatic transmission and is a stable tri-wheeler. The  two-seater vehicle will reach the market as it meets needs of the physically challenged to be mobile and independent. Abdul Tawab another team member added the vehicle has automatic gear and no clutch, making the operation simple and easy without the use of  feet.  The maximum speed of the vehicle can touch 140 Km per hour, on  roads in top condition and the mileage it offers is around 23 Km per litre of petrol.

The need for a performance oriented vehicle for the use of challenged people was realised, no such vehicle was available as far as it is seen in India.  The vehicle is the result of  their academic project and has  now been completed with all necessary testing and final adjustments. The trike (3+Bike), was demonstrated to public and media by the team on May 28.   The salient features of the vehicle were explained  in detail in the presence of the team and their guides.
