Mangalore, June 20, 2014:  At least four   huge trees came crashing down on the road at different places in the city on June 19, Thursday following heavy rains accompanied by strong winds.

A huge peepul tree, sad to be nearly a century old, located  near the flower market cross road at Carstreet  rolled on to the road damaging a car parked in front of the flower market.

In another incident, a tree crashed into the road near the Nandigudda crematorium resulting in disruption in traffic in the area for some time. In the third case, a huge tree landed on the road near the newly inaugurated Forum Fiza Mall at Pandeshwar. In this case too traffic was disrupted. In Valencia a transformer was damaged after a tree fell over it.

A huge tree  got uprooted and fell  on the road near Kolpadabail near Madantyar in Belthangady on the  Highway.It is learnt, some people sustained minor injuries due to tree fall.

Power supply was also disrupted in various parts of the  city as well as the district due to the heavy rains.
