Mangaluru, March 17, 2024: Former minister B Ramanath Rai accused the BJP of replacing the candidate in Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency due to the failure of sitting MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. Rai stated at a press conference that there is a pro-Congress sentiment in Karnataka, citing concerns over rising commodity prices and farmer protests against the central government’s policies.

B Ramanath Rai accused the BJP

He highlighted the success of Congress-led guarantee schemes in Karnataka, claiming a Congress wave in several Lok Sabha constituencies.

Rai emphasized the empowerment of Karnataka families through guarantee schemes, providing a minimum of Rs 5,000 per month. He criticized the BJP’s previous dismissal of these schemes as ’bogus’, contrasting it with their failure to repatriate black money from foreign countries. Rai also alleged the BJP’s receipt of electoral bonds as ’kickbacks’, suggesting a link between such donations and the awarding of major government contracts.
