Kundapur: Mini bus overturns killing 12 yr boy; 9 injured

Kundapur, Jun 21, 2013: A 12 year old boy was killed while nine others sustained injuries when a mini bus in which they were travelling overturned at Ottinene near Shiroor of Byndoor on June 21, Friday.
The deceased boy is Chethan, son of Gopal and Gulabi couple of Hallur. The mishap is learnt to have occurred when the driver of the mini bus veered off to the roadside in order to avoid a collision with a speeding oncoming lorry, only to lose control over the vehicle which overturned.
The bus carrying 17 persons from four families from Kumta was returning to Kumta after visiting Sigandur and Kollur temples.
The driver and conductor of the bus who sustained serious injuries have been admitted to Manipal Hospital, while other injured are being treated at a Kundapur hospital.
Byndoor police have registered a case.
