Konkani Bhasha Mandal pays homage to Fr. Mark Walder

Mangaluru, Mar 21, 2024: Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka mourned the loss of Fr. Mark Walder, who recently passed away. During a meeting of the executive committee, the President of Bhasha Mandal, K. Vasantha Rao, offered heartfelt condolences and paid homage to Fr. Walder.

 

 

Fr. Mark Walder had served as the founder treasurer of Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka. This year, the organization commemorates its golden jubilee.

Addressing the gathering, Senior Konkani writer Raymond D’cunha Thakode, the Secretary, described Fr. Mark Walder as a guiding institution in himself. Through his magazine and efforts, he nurtured a new generation of writers. He served as an inspiration for many contemporary Konkani writers, including D’cunha Thakode himself.

Joint Secretary Juliet Fernandez, Treasurer Suresh Shenoy, and Dr. Arvind Shanbhag were also present at the event to pay their respects.
