Kasargod, July 7, 2014: A team of policemen led by sub-inspector Jacob of Kumble, acting on information, arrested two persons in connection with theft of cattle. They also impounded a car and an auto rickshaw used in the act of theft. The culprits identified are 32-year-old Nassar from Kumble Arikkad and 40-year-old Ismail, a native of Mangalore, reportedly they also have several other cases of cattle theft booked earlier.
The arrest took place at night during a patrol when police stopped an auto rickshaw near Peruvadu petrol bunk Kumble. Inspecting the vehicle; they found the auto was transporting goats. The arrested are said to have confessed to having stolen the goats when the police questioned further, they came to know a car that was following the auto rickshaw as escort vehicle was involved as well and took hold of the car too.
