Karkala: Youth hacked to death over trivial issue in Bola; accused arrested

Karkala, July 12, 2014: A youth was brutally hacked to death over a trivial reason at Bola village in Karkala taluk on July 10, Thursday night.

susaid The deceased is Suresh Moolya(30). Suresh who was running a poultry farm in the village was allegedly stabbed to death by Ashok Shetty of the same village using a knife. It is learnt, the two had entered into a fight late night on Thursday and Ashok who was under the influence of alcohol pounced on Suresh, killed him and then dumped the body near the Shilpashree Kalyana Mandir in the village.

His sister who on hearing the screams rushed to the spot saw Suresh lying in a pool of blood. Suresh who was alive then, was rushed to the Udupi Government Hospital but of no avail.

Karkala Rural Police have arrested the accused. It has been gathered that a dispute over purchase of coconuts had culminated in the murder.
