Bantwal, April 11, 2014: The communally sensitive town of Kalladka in Bantwal taluk is once again tense following clashes between two groups on April 10, Thursday night.
There is information that three persons were injured and two vehicles were damaged in the clashes.
Information available as of now reveal that the clashes broke out at around 8.30 pm when a group of men assaulted a youth belonging to a minority community. This led to a fighting between two groups which fearlessly hurled bottles and stones at each other. Severalvehicles were targeted.
It is learnt shops in the area immediately closed down fearing the worst. The KSRP personnel who were camping in the town in the wake of the elections, had to resort to lathi charge to bring the situation under control.
Bantwal Circle Inspector Rajashekhar Mistri and senior officials are camping at the spot.
The clashes in Kalladka that too when a few days are left for the elections, has added to tension in the area.
