JD(S) leader DM Aslam says he is happy over Congress victory

Mangalore, May 10, 2013: JD(S) district minority unit president D M Aslam has said that he was happy over the victory of Congress in majority of constituencies in DK.

Speaking at the press meet held on May 10, Friday, he said that he himself had campaigned for Congress and urged many minorities to cast their votes to Congress and not to JD(S).

 

He also said that he had even printed the handbills supporting Congress and distributed it in  ward number 42 and 45.

Aslam  said that he did not want  SP Changappa to contest in Mangalore South Constituency from the JD(S) and added he however could get a ticket due to the influence of several leaders.

He got just 1600 votes which is shameful, Aslam said and added during the previous election JD(S) had gained 10,500 votes.

He said that the party which stirred  religious sentiments of the people  did not win in the election but able candidates made their way.

Sadik, Rehamathulla, Imran and Sattar were present at the press meet.
