II PU student given zero marks, gets 70% and I class, on revaluation

Mangalore, May 31, 2014: Cases where bright students undergo hell when they get low marks in the govt. examinations and even commit suicide is often heard. Ramya of Katipalla a student of Sri Narayana Guru PU College recently went through such a situation.

She was stunned after learning she secured zero marks in accountancy subject, she was confident of her hard work and correct answers and she knew something was a miss.

Very systematically she took care to apply for ’Revaluation’ in spite of the hurdles and expense. The result was she not only passed with 70% marks in the particular subject but overall got a first class. Fortune favours the brave they say!

Her suspense and agony was extreme, she did not receive the photocopy of her answer sheets on time from the PU board (There is an option in Karnataka to apply for photocopy of answer sheets for a nominal fee). Hence she was forced to apply for re-examinations to avoid more delay. The principal of college of her College,  had full faith in Ramya’s performance all through the year, so he went all out to get the  revaluation of accountancy paper. Lo! on  May 29 the college received the result of the revaluation.

 Ramya earlier had scored a total marks of 349 total was declared first class with 419 marks overall, and in the  accountancy paper where she was given a zero the revalued marks a grand 70%!  Yet for no fault of hers and added to all the stress and trouble she faces problems for admission to the better  well known colleges for their seats in the degree course are full up.  Fate sometimes punishes without fault on ones part - Ramya keep up the courage.
