Huge haul of Ammonium Nitrate in Karkala ; accused escapes

Karkala, Mar 25, 2014 : In a major haul, Karkala rural police have seized large quantities of Ammonium Nitrade in a raid at Tellaru Indrabailu in Durga village. The value of the seized chemical is said to be nearly Rs one crore.

The police raided the place acting on a definite information. The accused is Biju, a Keralite. He has reportedly succeeded in giving the cops a slip.

In fact several complaints were heard against him even in the past and explosives had been recovered from him earlier too. It is also being said that he stored ammonium nitrate in huge quantity even in his house at Ajekar.

Sources said the Kerala police too had arrested Biju in the past.

The raid followed precautionary measures being taken by the police to ensure a peaceful Lok Sabha elections.
