Health Minister Khader accused of favouritism in getting BDA site to brother’s Trust

Mangalore, Mar 26, 2014: State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader is facing an allegation of exerting his political clout to allot a Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) site to a Trust run by his younger brother, though it was actually intended to be allotted to the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple Trust. However, the minister has denied the allegations.

 The Trust named UT Nasima Fareed Memorial Charitable Trust is managed by the minister’s younger brother.

It has been gathered that the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple Trust which had applied for a BDA site to set up a information centre in the state capital had even deposited  a sum of Rs 39,958 in February 2013. There is information that the BDA had approved the proposal and accordingly  had sent a letter to the Temple Executive Officer to visit the site.

The Executive Officer says it was only three months ago that the temple came to know that the site has been transferred to someone else.

Khader denies allegations:  Health Minister Khader who out rightly refutes the allegations and  said he had nothing to do with the trust run by his brother and  that the land was allotted to the Trust  as per the procedure after duly  taking into consideration the fact that it is meant for the benefit of differently abled people.

“ I am ready for any inquiry and  if the allegation was found true, then I would ask the  authorities to allot the site to the temple,” Khader said.

He also strongly feels that the allegation was levelled just to  tarnish his image.
