Karkala, Mar 5, 2014 : Two class IX girls of the SNV School at Anekere in Karkala who were reported missing since March 1, Saturday, have been traced in Bijapur.

missingThe Karkala Police have brought the girls back hometown and entrusted them to the custody of their parents.  It has been learnt that the girls have told the police that the pressure to study well as well as the harassment at home had forced them to run away.

The two girls are Suma  and Harshitha, both 15 years old. They hailed from Doopadakatte. It is learnt, on Saturday Suma had taken Rs 4000 from her parents saying she had to pay the school fees. However, instead of heading towards school, the two girls boarded a bus to Udupi and from there to Bijapur.

It is learnt, they had spoken to a few over cell phone from Bijapur and this helped the police to track down the girls.

The worried families of the two girls who had earlier lodged a missing complaint after a futile search, are now a relieved lot.
