Gold chains stolen from Milagres Cathedral, Kalianpur

Udupi, Mar 4, 2013: Two gold chains from the idol of Our Lady of Miracles at the Milagres Cathedral at Kalianpur have been stolen on the night of March 3, Sunday.
The thieves had broken open the locks of the glass case of the idol to steal the gold chains. Even the crown of Infant Jesus was found lying on the ground.
Incidentally, though a watchman was on duty, he was unaware of the theft. Senior police officials have visited the spot and a case has been registered .
