Glittering ceremony marks World Bunts Convention in city

Mangalore, May 10, 2014: The World Bunts Convention organised at the AB Shetty grounds to coincide with the centenary fete of Buntara yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha on May 9, Saturday was inaugurated by DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai
Earlier, the renovated Bunts Hostel Circle was dedicated to the Mangalore City Corporation in the presence of several dignitaries and District Minister.
Addressing the gathering, Rai said the Bunts are known for their inherent leadership qualities He hailed the contributions of the Bunt community to the society and also the achievement of the members of the community spread across the globe in fields diverse.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel who was also present as a chief guest said the Sangha President Ajith Kumar Rai Malady had put in great efforts in organising the convention.
Prominent among those who graced the function are A.B. Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Tulasi Maddineni, ZP CEO, Dr Sharanappa, SP, Ajith Kumar Hegde, Commissioner of MCC, Afzal Ahmed Khan, RTO, JR Lobo, MLA, Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation. Sarvottam Shetty, President of UAE Karnataka Sangha and Bunts Sangha, Sudhir Shetty, CEO of UAE Exchange and AJ Shetty, Chairman of AJ Group of Institutions.
