Gerosa school row: Probe officer submits report

Mangaluru, Mar 08, 2024: Dr Akash Shanker, Additional Commissioner of School Education Department of Kalaburagi division who was deputed as the investigation officer by the government in the St Gerosa school controversy, has submitted his report to the government. It may be recalled here that the allegation by some parents of the school that a teacher had made derogatory remarks against a religion during the class, had kicked off a major controversy with Hindu outfits staging a protest under the leadership of the local MLA, subsequently leading to the suspension of the teacher.

 

The investigation officer has submitted the report to Ritesh Kumar Singh, Chief Secretary of the Education Department.

During the course of the investigation, the probe officer had  spoken to various individuals, complainant, school teachers, managements, parents, teachers and leaders of Hindu organisations.

Meanwhile MLA Vedavyas Kamath has demanded that the report be made public.
