First ‘Post Shoppe’ inaugurated at Hampankatta Post Office

Mangalore, Jan 23, 2014: The first Post Shoppe of south Karnataka region was inaugurated at the Hampankatta Post Office on Jan 23, Thursday.

Venugopal, the Assistant General Manager of the Statebank of Mysore was the chief guest
Arundathi Ghosh, Post Master of Karnataka Division presided over the function and appreciated the unique concept.

L K Dash, the Director of Postal Services in South Karnataka Region educated the gathering about the concept of the Post Shoppe. He also said that the aim of inaugurating the Post Shoppe is to provide ancillary services to the postal customers including envelopes, greeting cards, stationary equipment under one roof.

He also said that the post office have tied up with various stationary companies, who will provide stationary items at low price.

The shoppe also comprise of wide varieties of books from the National Book Trust and also collectibles and souvenirs like innovative coffee mugs baring the imprints of stamps like that of Sachin Tendulkar’s 200th test and Dasara as perfect souvenirs. 

K A Devraj, Post Master introduced the guests and welcomed the gathering.
