Fatal fall for 2 yr old kid from 2nd floor window of hospital

Mangalore, June 22, 2013: A two year old child met a tragic end when it fell off the window of the second floor of Colaco Hospital here on June 21, Friday evening.

The mishap took place when the girl child was playing with her twin sister near the window at around 5.30 pm on Friday.  The deceased child is identified as Marwa, daughter of Mukhtar and Noor Jahan of Kannur in Kerala.

Noor Jahan had been admitted to the Colaco Hospital for her third delivery recently and she had given birth to a baby boy two days ago. It is learnt, the two kids were playing near the window without any protective grill, resulting in the tragedy.

Though the seriously injured child was immediately shifted to the KMC Hospital, she breathed her last there.

The baby’s father Mukhtar who works as an autorickshaw driver in Kannur blamed the hospital authorities for the death of his child and said the windows without grills was responsible for the death of his child.
