Explosives case : Biju Thomas brought to Karkala for probe

Karkala, April 30, 2014 :  Biju Thomas, the prime accused in the case of huge cache of explosives in various parts of Karkala, who was arrested at Gurgaon in Haryana recently, was on April 29, Tuesday brought to Karkala as part of the investigation.

Already, Karkala ASP Annamalai has confirmed that Biju Thomas who was on the run since the past one month was arrested in Gurgaon, the Udupi police blog however says he was nabbed in Delhi.

It may be mentioned here that the  Karkala police led by ASP Annamalai in raids on different places had seized huge quantity of ammonium nitrate and other explosive materials worth several crores of rupees from various plantations and other places.

Though it was said that they were stocked to be supplied to quarries which are in abundance in the taluk, the cops had sought NIA assistance to probe the case.

Sources say Biju Thomas may be produced before the court on April 30 and police may seek his custody for some more time.
