Mangalore, June 17, 2014: State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnaker has said that a committee will be formed to ensure effective implementation of the Right to Education Act all over the state. The Committee will also try to find solutions to the problems arising in the process of implementation of the Act.
Speaking to the media here on June 16, Monday, the minister said the Committee would also study various aspects pertaining to the Act.
The Minister informed on this occasion a committee will be constituted to identify minority institutions on the basis of the percentage of reservation they offer to minority students. He also stated that this year 25 per cent of the students in unaided minority schools belong to minority communities.
On supply of text books to schools, the minister said 99.5 per cent of students in primary and secondary schools have been provided text books so far. There are plans to introduce NCERT level syllabus by upgrading syllabus of Primary and Secondary Schools, he informed.
The Minister also stated that 5000 teachers would be recruited this year to fill in vacancies and added already 11200 new teachers have been appointed.
