Mangalore, Mar 27, 2014 : An elderly citizen sustained serious injuries when an electric pole came crashing down after a dried tree branch rolled over the pole near the Konchady Nagakannika Temple on March 26, Wednesday.
The tree was located close by a main electricity line. A woman and an elderly citizen who heard the sound of the tree branch ome crashing down, tried to escape. Though the woman managed to run, the pole landed straight on the elderly man.
Local residents are blaming MESCOM for its negligence in cutting the tree branch located close by a power line.
