DKMUL celebrating Nandini Sihi Utsava to mark World Milk Day

Mangalore, June 2, 2014 :  A Nandini Sweet Festival named Nandini Sihi Utsava was organised by the Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited   on June 1, Sunday to mark World Milk Day celebrations. Outstanding Nandini Milk dealers who registered highest sales during 2013-14 were also honoured at the function held at Kulshekhar.

 

 

 

State Minister for Health and Family Welfare UT Khader, Mayor Mahabala Maarla and MLC Monappa Bhandari who were the chief guests, felicitated the outstanding dealers by presenting them gifts and certificates. The chief guests were in turn felicitated on behalf of the Union.

In his address, the Health Minister said there is a need to encourage people to take up dairy farming which can be a profitable profession.

Dr. BV Sathyanarayana, Managing Director of the Union also spoke on the importance of the day.

Later a vehicle rally was taken from the dairy to Nanthoor Junction  as part of World Milk Day and Nandini Sihi Utsava.A quiz contest for consumers was also organised.

The Union will be offering Nandini  sweet products at a discounted rate of 10 per cent for a week from Sunday onwards as part of the festival.
